New joint Co-ordinating Editor of Cochrane Wounds

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jo Dumville as the new joint Co-ordinating Editor of Cochrane Wounds. Jo Dumville is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Health Research at the University of Manchester, UK. The institution is rich in Cochrane activity as it houses the Editorial bases for three Cochrane Review Groups: Cochrane Wounds, Cochrane Oral Health and Cochrane Bone, Joint and Muscle Trauma.

Dr Jo Dumville gained a PhD in Biochemistry before training in Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh.  15 years ago she became involved in evidence syhthesis through the design and conduct of randomised controlled trials and other primary research exploring uncertainties in the prevention and treatment of wounds and their complications. Dr Jo Dumville began working with Cochrane Wounds as an author — proceeding to become an Editor, Deputy Co-coordinating Editor and was recently appointed Co-Coordinating Editor. She is also a Methods Editor for Cochrane Oral Health.

Since 2011 Dr Dumville has authored over 35 Reviews and overviews of reviews within Cochrane Wounds, which have included a range of review and analytical approaches. She led a recently completed three year Cochrane Programme Grant called High Priority Cochrane Reviews in Wound Prevention and Treatment.

Dr Dumville said: “I am thrilled to be joining Nicky as Co-ordinating Editor of Cochrane Wounds and aim to contribute to continuing the fantastic work of the group in producing high quality reviews.  I look forward to developing further links with our Network — Long-Term Conditions and Ageing Network 2 — and maximising the profile and impact of our work.”
